A legal battle is not a pupolarity contest. yes everyone has his opion on what a funny term really means, but in a law suit the court has the final say. Any opion outside the court does not and should not count. Law is supposed to hurt feeling anyway.

As to expert or not, in fact you need to have someone with credential to make the defendent's case compelling. In the court this is called witness. Not anyone who regards himself as "intellectual" has a credential to be such a witness. Where is defendent's witness? if you have neither good lawyer nor powerful witness, even a judge who sides with you outside the courtroom could judge against you.
